Pancreas, 2009
The formation of the pancreatic duct system is the result of the fusion of 2 embryonic buds, the ventral and dorsal primordia. Frequently, this fusion process is localized in the pancreatic head; variations, however, may account for the structural diversity of the duct system.

Current Treatment Options in Gastroenterology, 2000
The treatment of pancreatic duct strictures is based on an accurate assessment of the etiology of the disease, and then the degree of symptomatology. Our outline for therapy is as follows: Exclude a diagnosis of malignancy by using radiologic, endoscopic, histologic, and molecular biologic modalities.

Importance of main pancreatic duct dilatation in IPMN undergoing surveillance
British Journal of Surgery, 2018The association between risk of pancreatic cancer and a dilated main pancreatic duct (MPD) in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) is debated. The aim of this study was to assess the role of MPD size in predicting pancreatic cancer in resected ...

Pancreatic duct stenting in acute severe pancreatitis
Khirurgiya. Zhurnal im. N.I. Pirogova, 2022To evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic retrograde stenting of the pancreatic duct for acute severe pancreatitis. We analyzed 94 patients with acute severe pancreatitis who underwent surgery (n=87, 92.6%) and endoscopic retrograde pancreatic stenting (n=28, 29.8%). The first group included 15 patients (16%) after pancreatic duct stenting in aseptic phase

Early pancreatic duct adenocarcinoma
Human Pathology, 1988A 68-year-old Japanese woman presented with complaints of appetite and weight loss. Annual Review of Physiology, 1994
The duct cell is a minor cell type of the pancreas, which comprises 10% of the cells and 4% of the volume of the pancreas (39). The predominant acinar cells are much denser than the other cell types because of their large content of zymogen granules (145), thus the duct cells contain less than 4% of the pancreatic protein.

MASSIVE PANCREATIC DUCT HAEMORRHAGE
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1996Direct fistula between the splenic artery and the pancreatic duct is briefly reviewed. The literature indicates that such a fistula is almost always due to a pancreatic artery aneurysm. Because of diagnostic difficulties, a variety of operations have been performed on these patients prior to arriving at the correct diagnosis.

Pancreatic duct pressure in chronic pancreatitis
The American Journal of Surgery, 1982The wide variety of surgical procedures available for the relief of pain in patients with chronic pancreatitis attests to a lack of understanding of the precise mechanisms responsible for the onset of pain in this condition. In the development of surgical procedures designed to "decompress" the pancreatic duct in chronic pancreatitis, it has been ...
