Pancreatic Elastase 1 after Pancreatic Transplantation
Pancreas, 1991Human pancreatic elastase 1 (E1) is a novel pancreas-specific proteinase that has not yet been investigated after pancreatic transplantation (PTx). Using a recently developed E1 ELISA, we studied the E1 serum curves in 36 type I diabetic patients subjected to PTx with enteric exocrine diversion from the pretransplant value up to 8 years after ...

Pancreatic Cationic Elastase in Porcine Experimental Pancreatitis
European Surgical Research, 1991A radioimmunoassay for porcine, cationic, pancreatic elastase (irPE) is described. Normal porcine serum contains only small amounts of irPE (less than 3 micrograms/l). IrPE in serum and peritoneal exudate from 6 pigs with experimental pancreatitis was found mainly in a molecular form corresponding to free pro-enzyme.

Human cationic, pancreatic elastase in acute pancreatitis
Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1993Immunoreactive cationic pancreatic elastase (irPE) in serum and peritoneal exudate from 8 patients with severe acute pancreatitis was found mainly in complex with alpha-1-proteinase-inhibitor (alpha 1PI). Only minor amounts of irPE were found in a molecular form corresponding to the free proenzyme. The presence of alpha-2-macroglobulin (alpha 2M)-bound,

Competitive inhibition of pancreatic elastase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1973Abstract N- Acetyl and N- carbobenzoxy derivatives of dipeptides of alanine, valine, leucine and isoleucine were found to be effective competitive inhibitors of the esterolytic activity of pancreatic elastase (EC 3.4.4.7) with K i values between 1 and 10 mM.

Pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma producing pancreatic elastase 1
Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1993AbstractThe elevation of plasma pancreatic elastase 1 in patients with pancreatic cancer is caused by concomitant pancreatitis. There is no report that pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma tissue itself produced elastase 1. A 54‐year‐old woman underwent total pancreatectomy for pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma.

Stabilization of Lyophilized Porcine Pancreatic Elastase
Pharmaceutical Research, 1993Porcine pancreatic elastase, a well-characterized serine protease, has been used as a model to assess the effects of excessive humidity on solid-state stability of the lyophilized protein. Elastase lyophilized without excipients retained full activity immediately after freeze-drying but became denatured upon continued storage at 40 degrees C, 75 ...
