Pancreatic metastasis of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans
Journal of Gastroenterology, 2004Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a relatively rare skin tumor that is considered to have intermediate malignancy; it demonstrates frequent local recurrence, but systemic metastasis is rare. We report a 49-year-old woman with pancreatic metastasis of DFSP who underwent total pancreatectomy with partial resection of the portal vein.

A pancreatic metastasis from a colon cancer
Clinics and Research in Hepatology and Gastroenterology, 2011Pancreatic metastases from colorectal cancer are extremely rare. We report the case of a 74-years-old patient presented with a metachronous pancreatic metastasis, which was treated by segmental pancreatectomy. After reviewing literature, diagnosis and management of pancreatic metastasis from colorectal carcinoma are discussed.

Intraglomerular metastasis from pancreatic cancer
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 2001Few case reports have shown the presence of metastatic tumor cells in renal glomeruli. We report one case with intraglomerular metastasis proved at renal biopsy. A 60-year-old man suffered from weight loss and fever of unknown origin. Urinalysis revealed proteinuria with cellular and granular casts.

[Diagnostic imaging of pancreatic metastasis].
La Radiologia medica, 1990The authors present their personal series of pancreatic metastases (8 cases) which were evaluated with different imaging modalities--i.e., sonography, computed tomography, and angiography. Possibilities and limitations of non-invasive modalities are pointed out, and the usefulness of angiography is emphasized for the identification of small ...

LRH1 promotes pancreatic cancer metastasis
Cancer Letters, 2014The transcriptional factor liver receptor homolog 1 (LRH1) regulates pancreatic development, and may participate in pancreatic oncogenesis through activation of growth factor signaling transduction cascades. We measured transcriptional activity of β-catenin in response to LRH1 stimulation by a Topflash reporter assay.

Roles of Fyn in pancreatic cancer metastasis
Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2010AbstractBackground and Aims: Src family kinases have been suggested to be associated with the metastasis of tumors, but their related mechanisms remain unclear. The aims of the present study were to assess the possible mechanisms by which the inhibition of Fyn activation regulates pancreatic cancer metastasis. Methods: We examined the expressions of ...

[Metastasis of pancreatic tumors].
Der Pathologe, 2016With a 5-year survival rate that has remained stagnant at 6 % for decades, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is still one of the most fatal malignancies. Despite intensive research, currently available therapy options are less than adequate. As more than half of the patients already show distant metastases at the time of diagnosis, metastatic ...
