Acute Pancreatitis (A Clinical Case)

open access: yesКреативная хирургия и онкология
ntroduction. The diagnosis of acute pancreatitis poses no significant difficulties. Nonetheless, accurately predicting the potential severity of the disease during its early stages remains a challenge with existing diagnostic methods.

Open necrosectomy in acute pancreatitis–obsolete or still useful?

open access: yesWorld Journal of Emergency Surgery, 2020
Background Multiple organ failure and early surgery are associated with high morbimortality after open necrosectomy. Data are mostly derived from historical cohorts with early necrosectomy bereft of step-up treatment algorithm implementation.

Downregulation of sST2, a decoy receptor for interleukin‐33, enhances subcutaneous tumor growth in murine pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Subcutaneous implantation of murine Panc02 pancreatic cancer cells depleted of sST2, a soluble decoy receptor for the proinflammatory interleukin‐33 (IL‐33), leads to a decreased number of GLUT4‐positive cancer‐associated adipocytes, reduced levels of the anti‐inflammatory molecule adiponectin, increased phosphorylation of IκBα, elevated Cxcl3 ...

Necrotizing Pancreatitis: Current Management and Therapies [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Endoscopy, 2017
Acute necrotizing pancreatitis accounts for 10% of acute pancreatitis (AP) cases and is associated with a higher mortality and morbidity. Necrosis within the first 4 weeks of disease onset is defined as an acute necrotic collection (ANC), while walled ...

Efficacy of antibiotic penetration into pancreatic necrosis [PDF]

open access: yesHPB, 2006
Infection of pancreatic necrosis is the most dangerous complication of acute necrotizing pancreatitis. Infection is undoubtedly caused by the endogenous flora of the host. This is why prophylaxis with a broad-spectrum antibiotic is considered an effective procedure.

Age‐Related Changes in Myeloid Cells and Their Impact on Subcutaneous Melanoma Growth in Mice

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Our findings reveal that age‐related changes in subcutaneous melanoma growth and immunotherapy response are context‐dependent. In models where tumor growth and treatment resistance increase with age, this effect is partly driven by enhanced immunosuppression from myeloperoxidase‐active Gr‐1⁺ myeloid cells.

Imaging modalities for necrotizing pancreatitis: what’s new (literature review)

open access: yesActa Biomedica Scientifica
Pancreatic necrosis is the most severe form of acute pancreatitis; which is accompanied by a high risk of developing serious complications such as sepsis; peritonitis; multiple organ failure; etc. The mortality rate of pancreatic necrosis reaches 60–80 %;

Endoscopic Transmural Necrosectomy for Walled-Off Pancreatic Necrosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2014
BACKGROUND: Endoscopic transmural necrosectomy (ETN) is emerging as a viable treatment option for walled-off pancreatic necrosis. This NOTES-type procedure is significantly less invasive than an extensive surgical debridement; however, published data ...

Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes in Conjunction with Roflumilast Ameliorate Chronic Kidney Disease Through the Modulation of Fibrosis and Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The novelty of this study showed that the injection of exosomes produced from ADMSCs in combination with Roflumilast poses a more favorable therapeutic outcome for CKD induced by Adriamycin, compared to therapy with exosomes or Roflumilast alone. Roflumilast and exosomes treatment lowered the expression of the apoptotic, fibrotic, and inflammatory ...

Pancreatic Panniculitis in Patients with Chronic Pancreatitis: Case Report and Review of Literature

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Gastroenterology, 2017
Pancreatic panniculitis is a rare complication characterized by subcutaneous fat necrosis associated with pancreatic disease. It has been postulated that pancreatic panniculitis is caused by the systemic activity of pancreatic enzymes that lead to ...
