Pancreatitis-Related Pancreatic Masses: Chronic Pancreatitis

Differentiating a benign from a malignant pancreatic mass is necessary to choose appropriate therapy. This distinction is not easy as symptoms and imaging findings may be quite similar. Up to 10 % of patients with chronic pancreatitis may form a visible mass or develop symptoms quite suggestive of cancer, such as obstructive jaundice.
