Genome‐wide prediction of cloned disease resistance homologues across the Oryza genus
Abstract The wild relatives of rice (Oryza sativa L.) represent reservoirs of genetic diversity and potential sources of novel pest and disease resistance. The recent availability of high‐quality Oryza genome assemblies has enabled greater exploration of this diversity across the genus.

Strategy for Use of Rice Blast Resistance Genes in Rice Molecular Breeding
Rice blast is one of the most destructive diseases affecting rice production worldwide. The development and rational use of resistant varieties has been the most effective and economical measure to control blast. In this review, we summarized the cloning

Inflorescence/floret phenotypes of tweaky spike (tw) barley (Hordeum vulgare) mutants and their respective WT backgrounds. Summary Mutant‐based research is a cornerstone for elucidating gene function in barley (Hordeum vulgare) and other cereals. In this study, we exploited a unique collection of barley tweaky spike (tw) mutants to identify the locus ...

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Detection of Rice Panicle Blast with Multispectral Radiometer and the Potential of Using Airborne Multispectral Scanners [PDF]
Rice reflectance was measured to determine the spectral regions most sensitive to panicle blast infection. Reflectance increased in the 430- to 530-, 580- to 680-, and 1,480- to 2,000-nm regions at the dough stage both in the laboratory and the field as the percentage of diseased spikelets increased.

Sorghum tolerance and weed control with amicarbazone and metribuzin applied preemergence
Abstract Groundwater contamination has prompted the Environmental Protection Agency to consider restricting atrazine use, highlighting the need for alternative preemergence herbicides in grain sorghum (Sorghum Moench). Research was conducted in 2023 and 2024 to evaluate grain sorghum tolerance and weed control from preemergence applications of ...
