Is social identity belief independent? [PDF]
In this paper we aim to disentangle the effects on in-group favoritism driven by beliefs from those stemming from group identity, with the final goal of testing the relative power of three potential explanations of this bias: The Beliefs Driven ...

PFOA exposure induces pregnancy loss by promoting glutaminolysis, which further causes ammonia accumulation in macrophages. Cellular ammonia retention results in damage to mitochondria and lysosomes, which leads to cell death eventually. Impaired lysosomes also decrease the secretion of the Cathepsin B (CTSB), and attenuate macrophage infiltration and ...

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears" [PDF]
Unlike the Papa, Mama, and Baby Bears faced by the storybook Goldilocks, our Goldilocks faced three ferocious grizzlies: a cascading, global financial crisis; global deflation and excess capacity (or insufficient demand); and a domestic fiscal surplus in

Engineered GM1 Intersects Between Mitochondrial and Synaptic Pathways to Ameliorate ALS Pathology
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease driven by genetic and molecular disruptions affecting energy balance, protein homeostasis, and stress responses in nerve cells. Studies using human and rodent models identified convergent defects in mitochondria and synaptic function.

General schematic of the approach. Abstract Conventional Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrodes remain the clinical standard for electrophysiological monitoring but are hindered by poor skin conformity, mechanical rigidity, and signal degradation, particularly under motion or sweat.

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

Giulio II: da 'papa Guerriero' a 'papa Penitente'
Julius II from ‘Warrior Pope’ to ‘Penitent Pope’This article discusses the commission and meaning of the tomb monument of Pope Julius II (1503-1513), with a focus on the statue representing the pope himself. In 1505, when Julius II ordered Michelangelo to make this monument, it was quite uncommon that a pope would commission his own tomb, as this was ...

Semiconducting THO‐C3N Monolayers for Ultrahigh Anisotropic Carrier Mobility
A precise site‐specific N‐doping strategy that drives a secondary electronic transition in net W is proposed, enabling the electronic properties transition from metal to Dirac semimetal and ultimately to semiconductor. The obtained THO‐C3N‐2 and THO‐C3N‐3 semiconductors exhibit high carrier mobilities and pronounced mobility anisotropy, with THO‐C3N‐2 ...
