Signal Perceptron: On the Identifiability of Boolean Function Spaces and Beyond
In a seminal book, Minsky and Papert define the perceptron as a limited implementation of what they called “parallel machines.” They showed that some binary Boolean functions including XOR are not definable in a single layer perceptron due to its limited

Parallel Extreme Learning Machines Based on Frequency Multiplexing
In a recent work, we reported on an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) implemented in a photonic system based on frequency multiplexing, where each wavelength of the light encodes a different neuron state.

Low cost cluster architectures for parallel and distributed processing
Cluster based architectures are standing out in the last years as an alternative for the construction of versatile, low cost parallel machines. This versatility permits their use as much as a teaching tool or as a research environment in the field of ...

Dynamic scheduling on parallel machines
The authors consider on-line job-scheduling on parallel machines with different network topologies. An on-line scheduling algorithm schedules a collection of parallel jobs with known resource requirements but unknown running times on a parallel machine.

Synthesis of parallel binary machines [PDF]
Binary machines are a generalization of Feedback Shift Registers (FSRs) in which both, feedback and feedforward, connections are allowed and no chain connection between the register stages is required. In this paper, we present an algorithm for synthesis of binary machines with the minimum number of stages for a given degree of parallelization.

ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

Theoretical Approaches Parallel Identical Machines with Multi-Objective Functions
In this study, we propose multi-objective functions which consist of the sum of completion time, tardiness time and earliness time where Ci denoted the completion time of job (i), Ti=max{Ci-di,0}, denotes the tardiness of job (i), Ei=max{di-Ci,0} be ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...
