Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Singularity and Statics Analysis of Redundant Parallel Mechanism

open access: yes, 2019
The singularity and statics performance of a 6-DOF mobile redundant parallel mechanism and its real-time optimization design are studied. The statics Jacobian matrix of this parallel mechanism is established, and the singularity and statics performance ...

Workspace and Singularity Analysis of 4-DOF 3R1T Parallel Mechanism with a Circular Rail

open access: yesRobotics
Limited workspace and singularities are major challenges for parallel mechanisms. This article addresses these issues for a 4-DOF 1-SPS/3-RRRRR parallel mechanism with a circular rail, proposed in our prior work. The mechanism has a 3R1T motion type with

Workspace and Orientation Analysis of a Parallel Structure for Robotic Fingers

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2011
This paper investigates the workspace and the orientation capability of robotic fingers with a five-bar linkage and its variance defined by the parameter of a base link.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Fault-tolerant parallel applications with dynamic parallel schedules

open access: yes
Commodity computer clusters are often composed of hundreds of computing nodes. These generally off-the-shelf systems are not designed for high reliability. Node failures therefore drive the MTBF of such clusters to unacceptable levels.

Analysis and kinematic optimization of planar 2-DOF 5R parallel mechanisms considering the force transmissibility

open access: yes, 2011
S.123-161This paper treats the problems of kinematic analysis and optimization of the 5R symmetrical parallel mechanism taking into account the force transmissibility. In the design process, the theoretical workspace cannot be used practically due to the
