Spontaneous emission between an unusual pair of plates

open access: yes, 1999
We compute the modification in the spontaneous emission rate for a two-level atom when it is located between two parallel plates of different nature: a perfectly conducting plate $(\epsilon\to \infty)$ and an infinitely permeable one $(\mu\to \infty ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Effects of Friction Plate Hardness and Surface Orientation on the Frictional Properties of Cereal Grain

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Science, 2020
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the friction plate hardness and surface orientation of a friction plate on the angle and coefficient of static friction of cereal kernels.

Demonstration of an optical polarization magnifier with low birefringence

open access: yes, 2004
In any polarimetric measurement technique, enhancing the laser polarization change of a laser beam before it reaches the analyzer can help in improving the sensitivity. This can be performed using an optical component having a large linear dichroism, the

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

DETERMINATION OF COLLECTION EFFICIENCY OF ATMOSPHERIC IONS BY THE SYSTEMS OF PARALLEL CONDUCTIVE PLATES [PDF]

open access: yesAerul şi Apa: Componente ale Mediului, 2013
We present a theory that describes the scenarios of equations of motion of clustered air ions entering into specific systems. The system analyzed here is composed by two or three conductive parallel plates.

Influence of temperature-dependent viscosity on the MHD Couette flow of dusty fluid with heat transfer

open access: yesDifferential Equations and Nonlinear Mechanics, 2006
This paper studies the effect of variable viscosity on the transient Couette flow of dusty fluid with heat transfer between parallel plates. The fluid is acted upon by a constant pressure gradient and an external uniform magnetic field is applied ...

NLO radiative correction to the Casimir energy in Lorentz-violating scalar field theory

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
Violation of the Lorentz symmetry has important effects on physical quantities including field propagators. Therefore, in addition to the leading order, the sub-leading order of quantities may be modified. In this paper, we calculate the next to leading (

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
