Geometrical Parameter Optimization

2021
The previous chapter described the development of a system model which uses measured acceleration data to simulate the motion of the magnet stack within an inductive EH device. From the magnet motion relative to the coils, the induced voltage across an ohmic load is determined and subsequently the average power output is calculated.

Optimizing Parameters for Smoke Evacuation

Dermatologic Surgery, 2021
BACKGROUND Current literature lacks recommendations regarding the ideal organization of the smoke evacuation system to minimize inhalation of surgical smoke. OBJECTIVE This study determines optimal parameters of the smoke evacuation system with respect to the surgical field.

Parameter optimized hyperstable controllers

[1991] Proceedings of the 30th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
A parameterization of hyperstable linear time-invariant controllers is proposed, where the free parameters are to be determined by parameter optimization in order to meet various design requirements of the closed-loop system. The class of hyperstable controllers is of special importance since a control loop with hyperstable controller is guaranteed to ...

Parameter Optimization

2018
Parameter optimization is treated as an introduction. Unconstrained and constrained cases are analysed. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived and illustrated. Parameter optimization utilizes the theory of ordinary maxima and minima. The problem is to determine the value of the m-vector u of independent parameters (decision variables) to ...

Drilling Parameters Optimization

2020
Relationships between drilling parameters of weight on bit, rotary speed, tooth and bearing wear, hydraulic power, and rate of penetration (ROP) as well as drilling bit wear are first analyzed. After that, the method of optimizing mechanical drilling parameters is presented.

On Optimization of Machining Parameters

The Fourth International Conference on Control and Automation 2003 ICCA Final Program and Book of Abstracts ICCA-03, 2003
In this paper, an optimization model based on minimum production cost for multi-pass face-milling operations with single-tool applications is presented. Limits on cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut as well as tool life, surface roughness, cutting force, cutting power are constraints of the model.

Process-Parameter Optimization

1998
The abrasive water jet-cutting process is characterized by a large number of process parameters that determine efficiency, economy, and quality of the whole process. Therefore, optimization of the process is a primary requirement for a successful application.

Locally Optimal Parameters

2001
In this chapter we study several topics related to global optimality. First we show that one can characterize the parameters that globally optimize the optimal value function on a particular subset of the feasible set called the “region of cooperation”. The characterization is simplified if the so-called “sandwich condition” holds.

Discrete Parameter Optimization

2013
In this chapter, we consider the case when optimization has to be performed over a parameter set that is discrete valued and has a finite number of points. We present adaptations of the SPSA and SF algorithms discussed previously using certain projection mappings. We consider here the case of a long-run average cost objective.

Parameter Optimization with ACSL Models

SIMULATION, 1987
A method whereby a parameter optimization program, written in FORTRAN, can be used in conjunction with ACSL (Advanced Continuous Simulation Language) models of dynamic systems is described. The optimization of a projectile's trajectory is used as an example.
