We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Sparse model construction using coordinate descent optimization [PDF]
We propose a new sparse model construction method aimed at maximizing a model’s generalisation capability for a large class of linear-in-the-parameters models.

Optimal Formation Trajectory-Planning Using Parameter Optimization Technique [PDF]
Some methods have been presented to get optimal formation trajectories in the step of configuration or reconfiguration, which subject to constraints of collision avoidance and final configuration.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A contribution to theory and practice of nonlinear parameter optimization [PDF]
Nonlinear parameter optimization in least squares was studied from a point of view of differential geometry. Properties of curvilinear coordinates, scale factors and curvature were investigated.

On testing global optimization algorithms for space trajectory design [PDF]
In this paper we discuss the procedures to test a global search algorithm applied to a space trajectory design problem. Then, we present some performance indexes that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of global optimization algorithms.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

On multi-objective optimization of planetary exploration rovers applied to ExoMars-type rovers [PDF]
ExoMars is the first robotic mission of the Aurora program of the European Space Agency (EAS). Surface mobility (as provided by ExoMarks rover) is one of the enabling technologies necessary for future exploration missions.
