Parametric resonances of floating wind turbines blades under vertical wave excitation
The parametric resonances of the blades in floating offshore wind turbines are theoretically and experimentally investigated. In the theoretical analysis, each blade is pinned to a horizontal, rotating shaft and has a spring with rotational stiffness at ...

Parametric array technique for microbubble excitation
This study investigates the use of an acoustic parametric array as a means for microbubble excitation. The excitation wave is generated during propagation in a nonlinear medium of two high-frequency carrier waves, whereby the frequency of the excitation wave is the difference frequency of the carrier waves.

Higher Order Parametric Excitation Modes for Spaceborne Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers [PDF]
This paper describes a technique to significantly improve upon the mass peak shape and mass resolution of spaceborne quadrupole mass spectrometers (QMSs) through higher order auxiliary excitation of the quadrupole field.

PARAMETRIC SELF-EXCITATION OF CUTTING DYNAMIC SYSTEM
The problem on stabilizing the toolpath generation relative to the workpiece taking into account the parametric self-excitation is considered. Factors causing the cyclic parameter variations in the cutting dynamic system are analyzed.

Numerical Study of Forced Vibration Suppression by Parametric Anti-Resonance
The parametric anti-resonance phenomenon as an active damping tool for suppression of externally excited resonant vibration is numerically studied herein. It is well known fact that the anti-resonance phenomenon, i.e.

Parametric excitation of pipes through fluid flow
In this paper the dynamic behaviour of a continuum inextensible pipe containing fluid flow is investigated. The fluid is considered to be incompressible, frictionless and its velocity relative to the pipe has the same but time-periodic magnitude along ...

On the dynamics of a parametrically excited planar tether [PDF]
This study is concerned with a planar tether containing payloads in which two lumped masses are fitted whose mutual distance can be contrived to change periodically in time. This periodical variation in distance of the two masses is symmetrical and results in a time-varying coefficient of the kinetic energy, which in turn introduces parametric ...
