Structural Vibration Control by Damping Parametric Excitation
This paper proposes a new method for utilization of variable damping in a vibration system. The coefficient of variable damping can be changed as that in the case of a sine wave, i.e. parametric excitation whose frequency can be arbitrarily selected.

Testing Quantum Coherence in Stochastic Electrodynamics with Squeezed Schrödinger Cat States
The interference pattern in electron double-slit diffraction is a hallmark of quantum mechanics. A long-standing question for stochastic electrodynamics (SED) is whether or not it is capable of reproducing such effects, as interference is a manifestation

Influence of tooth profile errors and subharmonic resonance in helical gears rattle
This paper deals with the gear rattle of helical gear system. Introducing the mesh stiffness and torque variation into the one pair of helical gear system, the effects of the shapes of the tooth profile errors on the rattle are studied, and the ...

Pediatric Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman Disease Is Often Severe But Responsive to Siltuximab
ABSTRACT Background Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a potentially fatal immunologic disorder marked by widespread lymphadenopathy and inflammation. Siltuximab, an interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) inhibitor, is the only FDA‐approved treatment for adult patients with iMCD.

HMM-based Speech Synthesis with an Acoustic Glottal Source Model [PDF]
A major cause of degradation of speech quality in HMM-based speech synthesis is the use of a simple delta pulse signal to generate the excitation of voiced speech. This paper describes a new approach to using an acoustic glottal source model in HMM-based

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Motion stability of railway cars on bogies 18-100
Stability of the rolling stock in a rail track is determined by the nature of the motion of the wheelsets under the influence of processes in the “wheel — rail” system and connections with the bogie and the carriage body.
