A Generalized Parametric Selection Model for Non-Normal Data [PDF]

open access: yes
I develop a new approach for sample selection problems that allows parametric forms of any type to be chosen for both for the selection and the observed variables.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Parametric versus nonparametric: the fitness coefficient

open access: yes, 2018
The fitness coefficient, introduced in this paper, results from a competition between parametric and nonparametric density estimators within the likelihood of the data.

Kalman-Takens filtering in the presence of dynamical noise

open access: yes, 2016
The use of data assimilation for the merging of observed data with dynamical models is becoming standard in modern physics. If a parametric model is known, methods such as Kalman filtering have been developed for this purpose.

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

To Evaluate the Prognostic Factors in Using Bayesian Interval Censoring Analysis on Survival Rate of Gastric Cancer in Iran

open access: yesمجله اپیدمیولوژی ایران, 2010
Background & Objectives: The Cox proportional-hazards regression and other parametric models model have achieved widespread use in the analysis of time-to-event data with censoring and covariates.

A non-parametric investigation of risk premia [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates features of credit risk using non-parametric techniques, studying determinants of risk premia using a non-parametric term-structure model of the corporate spread. The model, which measures the extra return of defaultable corporate
