Computational Design and Optimization of Discrete Shell Structures Made of Equivalent Members

open access: yesBuildings
This paper presents a computational design method for generating discrete shell structures using sets of equivalent discrete members. This study addresses the challenge of reducing the geometrical variety in discrete shell elements by introducing a ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Structural studies into AM(_2)O(_7) framework materials and parametric Rietveld refinement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This thesis investigates the structural properties of the AM2O7 family of materials, many of which show interesting thermal expansion properties and remarkably complex structures.

Interactive Iconized Grammar‐Based Pailou Modelling

open access: yes, 2020
Pailous are representative Chinese architectural works used for commemoration. However, their geometric structure and semantic construction rules are too complex for quick and intuitive modelling using traditional modelling tools. We propose an intuitive

Longitudinal Data Regression Analysis Using Semiparametric Modelling

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal
Zhang, Leng and Tang (2015) propose joint parametric modelling of the means, variances, and the correlations by decomposing the correlation matrix via hyperspherical co-ordinates and show that this results unconstrained parameterization, fast ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Semi-parametric Models for Satisfaction with Income

open access: yes
An overview is presented of some parametric and semi-parametric models, estimators, and specification tests that can be used to analyze ordered response variables. In particular, limited dependent variable models that generalize or-dered probit are ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

An Integrated Urban Building Energy Benchmarking Workflow to Support Urban Energy Evaluation: A Case Study of Sheffield UK

open access: yesBuildings
Understanding energy demand and supply flow at a large urban scale is an essential step for urban designers, planners and policymakers in investigating how buildings within an existing urban context could be designed as a whole to support the future ...
