Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

CO2 Reduction on Copper‐Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Catalysts Tuned by Pulsed Potential Electrolysis: Effect of Pulse Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that pulsed potential electrolysis significantly improves CO2 reduction performance on copper‐nitrogen doped carbon electrodes. The formation of cationic copper sites and metallic clusters as a function of applied intermittent potential leads to notable selectivity changes compared to potentiostatic reduction.

Ion‐Selective Microporous Membranes via One‐Step Copolymerization Enable High‐Performance Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable one‐step copolymerization strategy is developed to produce low‐cost microporous ion exchange membranes that boost both the efficiency and lifespan of flow batteries. When combined with organic electrolytes in aqueous systems, these membranes enable safe and cheap flow battery energy storage, supporting the widespread integration of renewable

DISPERSAL OF RAFFLESIA PATMA BLUME ENDOPHYTE IN GRAFTED HOST PLANT (TETRASTIGMA LEUCOSTAPHYLUM (DENNST.) ALSTON) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Development, 2017
This study provides a hypothetical discussion about the growth of Rafflesia patma Blume (syn. R. horsfieldii R. Br. (1821); Rafflesiaceae), an endophytic parasite, within a grafted host, a woody vine (Tetrastigma leucostaphylum (Dennst.) Alston).

Parasitism by Cuscuta australis affects the rhizhospheric soil bacterial communities of Trifolium repens L.

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Scandinavica. Section B, Soil and Plant Science, 2019
The effect of parasitism on belowground microbial communities is not well understood. 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was used to test the effect of Cuscuta australis parasitism on the composition and diversity of bacterial community in the ...

Cutting the cost of carbon capture: a case for carbon capture and utilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A significant part of the cost for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is related to the compression of the captured CO2 to its supercritical state, at 150 bar and typically 99% purity.
