The Journal of Pediatrics, 1963Parathyroid adenoma was discovered in an 11-year-old girl who had a 2 year history of anorexia, failure to thrive, and weakness, with the development of an awkward gait. OCCASIONALLY, two parathyroid adenomas are found in a single patient; however, the occurrence of three true adenomas is exceedingly unusual. When more than one adenoma is encountered, the possibility of parathyroid hyperplasia should be considered. This is a report of a patient in whom three parathyroid adenomas were identified and removed and a normal

Parathyroid Adenoma and Parathyroid Carcinoma
2017The detection of primary hyperparathyroidism gradually increases. Asymptomatic cases prevail at present. In various studies the most portable and less invasive ultrasound imaging has a sensitivity of 56–100% and specificity of 40–99% in accurate localization of the parathyroid adenoma. 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT shows sensitivity of 56–100% and specificity of

PARATHYROID ADENOMA AND HYPERTROPHY OF THE PARATHYROID GLANDS
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1946The clinical recognition of hyperparathyroidism depends on interpretation of its protean manifestations. These have been divided into (1) those symptoms resulting from chemical alterations in the blood, (2) those symptoms resulting from involvement of the urinary tract and (3) those symptoms resulting from involvement of the skeleton.
