Parathyroid hormone-related protein and lung biology
Respiratory Physiology & Neurobiology, 2004Parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) is expressed in normal and malignant lung and has roles in development, homeostasis, and pathophysiology of injury and cancer. Its effects in developing lung include regulation of branching morphogenesis and type II cell maturation.

Parathyroid hormone-related protein in lower vertebrates
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2002The genes for parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) have been cloned in two teleost fishes, cDNA of sea bream (Sparus aurata) and genomic DNA of puffer fish (Fugu rubripes). The gene sequences show that there is significant conservation of amino acid identity, with specific domains most highly conserved.

Parathyroid hormone‐related protein and skin cancer
Australasian Journal of Dermatology, 1997Parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) is now well established as the major, if not the sole mediator of the humoral hypercalcaemia of malignancy. This is the phenomenon of elevated blood calcium in the absence of bony metastases in patients with certain solid tumours, most commonly squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the lung, but also occurring in ...
