An experimental study of partial melting and fractional crystallization on the HED parent body [PDF]
We have performed an experimental and modeling study of the partial melting behavior of the HED parent body and of the fractional crystallization of liquids derived from its mantle.

Magnetite in Comet Wild 2: Evidence for parent body aqueous alteration
The mineralogy of comet 81P/Wild 2 particles, collected in aerogel by the Stardust mission, has been determined using synchrotron Fe‐K X‐ray absorption spectroscopy with in situ transmission XRD and X‐ray fluorescence, plus complementary microRaman ...

Clues to the Origin of Jovian Outer Irregular Satellites from Reflectance Spectra
Visible/near-infrared narrowband spectroscopy (dispersion per element ∼ 6 Å) was obtained of the Jovian irregular satellites JVI Himalia, JVII Elara, JVIII Pasiphae, JIX Sinope, JX Lysithea, JXI Carme, JXII Ananke, and JXVII Callirrhoe in 2006, 2009, and

Long-lived magnetism on chondrite parent bodies
Abstract We present evidence for both early- and late-stage magnetic activity on the CV and L/LL parent bodies respectively from chondrules in Vigarano and Bjurbole. Using micro-CT scans to re-orientate chondrules to their in-situ positions, we present a new micron-scale protocol for the paleomagnetic conglomerate test.

Effective school governing bodies: parental involvement
This article investigates how parents can best be involved in school governing bodies (SGBs). The study adopts a qualitative approach, using focus group interviews. The findings suggest that the context within which schools operate plays a major role in the effective functioning of SGBs. The latter are perceived to be fraught with corruption – usurping

4. Parent Bodies of Iron Meteorites [PDF]
On the basis of their chemical and mineralogical composition, 420 iron meteorites have been classified into 12 different groups. Each group seems to have come from a separate parent body. The largest group, IIIAB, probably formed an asteroidal core in a body approximately 100 km in radius, which was largely destroyed by collision 630 My ago. Another 67
