Pareto Optimal Solution of a Fuzzy Newsboy Problem
Journal of Industrial Integration and Management, 2023In this paper, a multi-item classical newsboy problem is formulated, occurring both fuzziness and randomness with floor space constraint. Here, the demand is considered as a random variable in fuzzy sense and also the purchase cost, salvage value, and selling price are fuzzy numbers. Initially, a method is explained for solving such a problem by using

A sufficiency condition for coalitive pareto-optimal solutions
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 1976In a k-player, nonzero-sum differential game there exists the possibility that a group of players will form a coalition and work together. If all k players form the coalition, the criterion usually chosen is Pareto optimality, whereas if the coalition consists of only one player, a minmax or Nash equilibrium solution is sought.

Characterizing the Nash bargaining solution without Pareto-Optimality
Social Choice and Welfare, 1988We consider the bargaining problem with a variable number of agents. The first author [J. Econ. Theory 45, No.2, 330-341 (1988; Zbl 0657.90106)] had previously characterized the Nash solution as the only solution to satisfy the following axioms: Pareto Optimality, Symmetry, Scale Invariance, and Multilateral Stability.

Optimality Conditions for Pareto-Optimal Solutions
Key Engineering Materials, 2016In this paper the authors describe necessary conditions of optimality for continuous multicriteria optimization problems. It is proved that the existence of effective solutions requires that the gradients of individual criteria were linearly dependent. The set of solutions is given by system of equations.

Visualization of Pareto optimal solutions using MIGSOM
2015 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC), 2015In the multi-objective optimization problem that appears naturally in the decision making process for the complex system, the visualization of the innumerable solutions called Pareto optimal solutions is important issue. This study focuses on the Pareto optimal solution visualization method using the self-organizing maps which is one of promising ...

PARETO-OPTIMAL SOLUTIONS IN HELICOPTER DESIGN PROBLEMS
Engineering Optimization, 1990The design of a complex engineering system involves several competing objectives which cannot be combined into a single objective function. This paper introduces the concept of a Pareto-optimal solution in the context of multiple objective helicopter design problems. Commonly used techniques for generating Pareto-optimal solutions are discussed.

Distributed pareto-optimal solutions via diffusion adaptation
2012 IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop (SSP), 2012We consider solving multi-objective optimization problems in a distributed manner over a network of nodes. The problem is equivalent to optimizing a global cost that is the sum of individual components. Diffusion adaptation enables the nodes to cooperate locally through in-network processing in order to approach Pareto-optimality.
