Essential and toxic elements intake from botanical extracts: a probabilistic risk–benefit evaluation within the Italian dietary context

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Botanical extracts are widely consumed for their claimed health benefits, yet their safety profile with respect to chronic consumption remains poorly characterized. Understanding the potential health risks associated with their inorganic content is a crucial issue for ensuring safe use, along with a characterization of the ...

On stability conditions of vector \(l_\infty\)-extreme combinatorial problem with Pareto principle of optimality

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2003
We consider the multicriteria problem of combinatorial optimization with partial criteria of the kind MINMAX MODUL. The parameters of criteria are subject to "small" independent perturbations.

Inequality averse criteria for evaluating infinite utility streams: The impossibility of Weak Pareto [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates ethical aggregation of infinite utility streams by representable social welfare relations. We prove that the Hammond Equity postulate and other variations of it like the Pigou-Dalton transfer principle are incompatible with ...

Time‐Division Multiplexing for Parallel Transmission at Ultra‐High Field With Limited RF Channels

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Investigating time‐division multiplexing for parallel transmission in ultra high‐field imaging, striving for homogeneous whole brain excitation with a limited number of RF channels. Methods A fast RF switch was built to alternately route 8 transmit channels to each row of a double‐row 16‐element transmit coil array at a 9.4 T human MRI

On the leximin and utilitarian overtaking criteria with extended anonymity [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the extensions of the infinte-horizon variants of the leximin principle and utilitarianism on the set of infinite utility streams. We especially examine those extensions which satisfy the axiom of Preference-continuity (or Consistency)

A Novel Two‐Stage Flexible Flow Shop Batch Scheduling Model for Grinding Workshops

open access: yesNaval Research Logistics (NRL), EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The growing need for data storage in data centers has increased the demand for mechanical hard disks due to their low cost and high reliability. Aluminum substrates are the most popular base plates for mechanical hard disks because of their high hardness and low cost.

JOB SHOP SCHEDULING BIOBJETIVO MEDIANTE ENFRIAMIENTO SIMULADO Y ENFOQUE DE PARETO JOB-SHOP SCHEDULING: BIO-OBJECTIVE THROUGH SIMULATED COOLING AND PARETO PRINCIPLE

Development of a Sustainable Biocatalytic Process for Geranyl Benzoate Production Using Immobilized Lipase

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
This study optimized solvent‐free geranyl benzoate production using Lipozyme 435, achieving 72% conversion in 6 hours. Open reactors improved yields (>99% in 48 hours) by removing inhibitorymethanol. Methyl benzoate reduced enzyme activity by 54%, though Lipura Flex showed better resistance. Human cell tests confirmed no cytotoxicity.

Informational Requirements for Social Choice in Economic Environments [PDF]

open access: yes
Arrow's celebrated theorem shows that the aggregation of individuals' preferences into a social ordering cannot make the ranking of any pair of alternatives depend only on individuals' preferences over that pair, unless the fundamental Pareto and non ...
