Using Different Approaches to Approximate a Pareto Front for a Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm: Optimal Thinning Regimes for Eucalyptus fastigata

open access: yesInternational Journal of Forestry Research, 2012
A stand-level, multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) for determining a set of efficient thinning regimes satisfying two objectives, that is, value production for sawlog harvesting and volume production for a pulpwood market, was successfully ...

Efficient Screening of Organic Singlet Fission Molecules Using Graph Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screening framework based on graph neural networks (GNNs) and multi‐level validation facilitates the identification of singlet fission (SF) candidates. By efficiently predicting excitation energies across 20 million molecules, and integrating TDDFT calculations, synthetic accessibility assessments, and GW+BSE calculations, this ...

An Approach to Multicriteria Optimization of the Three-Stage Planetary Gear Train

open access: yesMachines
Planetary gear trains offer numerous advantages over traditional gear systems, including high efficiency, the ability to handle large torque loads, and significant reductions in mass and size for the same torque capacity.

Methods for many-objective optimization: an analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Decomposition-based methods are often cited as the solution to problems related with many-objective optimization. Decomposition-based methods employ a scalarizing function to reduce a many-objective problem into a set of single objective problems, which

Multi-agent collaborative search : an agent-based memetic multi-objective optimization algorithm applied to space trajectory design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This article presents an algorithm for multi-objective optimization that blends together a number of heuristics. A population of agents combines heuristics that aim at exploring the search space both globally and in a neighbourhood of each agent.

Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Optimization of Wind Turbine Airfoil Using Nondominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm and Pareto Optimal Front

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2012
A Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and response surface-based multiobjective design optimization were performed for six different 2D airfoil profiles, and the Pareto optimal front of each airfoil is presented.
