Effects of paricalcitol on the expression of β-catenin and the vitamin D receptor (VDR).
The expression of β-catenin increased in HK-2 cells treated with 10 µM HHE for 6 h. In contrast, the expression of VDR decreased after HHE treatment. Paricalcitol pretreatment significantly attenuated these changes.

Administered paricalcitol dose and survival in hemodialysis patients: A marginal structural model analysis [PDF]
PurposeSeveral observational studies have indicated that vitamin D receptor activators (VDRA), including paricalcitol, are associated with greater survival in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.

Oral paricalcitol as antiproteinuric agent in chronic kidney disease.
Background: Vitamin D has an important regulatory effect on the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, playing a central role in the regulation of proteinuria. We therefore studied the antiproteinuric effect of paricalcitol. Methods: 36 patients with an estimated GFR of 30-90mL/min/1.73m² and proteinuria >400mg/d with a stable dose of ACE inhibitor or ...
