Gastric parietal cell antibodies: demonstration by immunofluorescence of their reactivity with surface of the gastric parietal cells. [PDF]
Viable, intact gastric cells were obtained by pronase digestion of inverted rat stomach. The cell suspensions contained two main distinct cell population, i.e. 'large' cells (mean diameter 16 microns) and 'small' cells (mean diameter 8.5 microns).

Acid secretion-associated translocation of KCNJ15 in gastric parietal cells
Potassium ions are required for gastric acid secretion. Several potassium channels have been implicated in providing K+at the apical membrane of parietal cells. In examining the mRNA expression levels between gastric mucosa and liver tissue, KCNJ15 stood

Is the ClC-2 chloride channel involved in the Cl− secretory mechanism of gastric parietal cells? [PDF]
It has been controversial whether the ClC-2 chloride channel is involved in hydrochloric acid secretion of gastric parietal cells. Here, we investigated whether ClC-2 is the apical Cl− channel associated with gastric acid secretion.

Carbohydrate intake and activation of gastric acid secretion decrease gastric estrogen secretion
Gastric parietal cells (gastric acid-secreting cells) secrete estrogen in response to blood lipid (triglycerides [TG] and fatty acids [FFA]) levels. Since estrogen helps reduce blood lipid levels, gastric estrogen would be important in lowering elevated ...

Stomach secretes estrogen in response to the blood triglyceride levels
Ito et al. demonstrate that murine gastric parietal cells produce estrogen using fatty acids as an energy source, and secrete estrogen in response to the blood triglyceride levels.

Abstract Nineteenth century excavations of the Ciply‐Malogne Phosphatic Chalk Formation in Hainaut, Belgium, yielded over 50 partial mosasaur skeletons, the majority of which were referred to the species Mosasaurus lemonnieri Dollo, 1889. In the years since, this taxon has experienced a complicated taxonomic history, and its exceptional hypodigm has ...

Electrogenic sodium-bicarbonate cotransport in human ciliary muscle cells [PDF]
We investigated membrane voltage and intracellular pH (pHi) in cultured human ciliary muscle cells using a cell line (H7CM) and primary-cultured human ciliary muscle cells.

A case report: Diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic hypertrophic pachymeningitis
We reported a case of idiopathic hypertrophic dura meningitis diagnosed in our hospital. The patient repeatedly suffered from headaches, followed by blurred vision in the right eye. During this period, multiple sclerosis was considered for diagnosis, and it improved after hormone treatment.

State of actin in gastric parietal cells
Remodeling of the apical membrane-cytoskeleton has been suggested to occur when gastric parietal cells are stimulated to secrete HCl. The present experiments assayed the relative amounts of F-actin and G-actin in gastric glands and parietal cells, as ...
