We discuss the main results of a systematic quantitative analysis of the subsidence of the Paris basin made on 100 wells. Backstripping techniques with decompaction as well as sea level and water depth corrections are used to derive tectonic subsidence curves (in the absence of water and sediment loading) assuming local as well as regional compensation.

The Magdalenian in the Paris Basin: New results
Quaternary International, 2012Abstract This paper presents a synthesis of current knowledge on the Magdalenian in the Paris Basin. An inventory of sites and a review of the available radiocarbon dates are used to discuss the peopling of this region over a long period, covering the successive Badegoulian, Middle and Upper Magdalenian cultures.
