Episodic Paroxysmal Hemicrania?

Cephalalgia, 1987
Cyclic remissions in chronic paroxysmal hemicrania (CPH) have been considered to be transitory phenomena inevitably leading to the chronic stage. This conclusion has precluded the possibility of paroxysmal hemicrania having an episodic counterpart. Six case histories presented here establish the persistence of cyclic patterns for a mean of 23 years of ...

Paroxysmal Hemicrania in a Family

Cephalalgia, 2006
Paroxysmal hemicrania (PH) is a trigeminal autonomic cephalgia, characterised by unilateral attacks responsive to indomethacin. There are no published reports of a family history in PH. We report a mother and daughter both with PH. The daughter and her sister also had migraine.

The Paroxysmal Hemicrania-Tic Syndrome

Cephalalgia, 2003
Two cases of paroxysmal hemicrania (PH) associated with trigeminal neuralgia are reviewed. The paroxysmal hemicrania component in one patient was episodic, while it was chronic in the other. Each headache type responded completely to separate treatment, highlighting the importance of recognizing this association.

Neurophysiological Studies in Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania and Hemicrania Continua

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, 1994
SYNOPSIS To explore the possible involvement of the pain control system, pain pressure threshold (PPT), nociceptive flexion reflex (RIll), blink and corneal reflexes have been studied for pain perception assessment in 12 patients with chronic paroxysmal hemicrania (CPH) and 12 patients with hemicrania continua (HC).
