Enhanced partial discharge location determination for transformer insulating oils considering allocations and uncertainties of acoustic measurements

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2020
The consequence of partial discharge (PD) activities inside transformer may result in a catastrophic failure. The exact PD location is based on precisely computation of the time difference of arrival (TDOA) between the signals at different acoustic ...

Effect of Anode Dielectric Coating on Hall Thruster Operation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
An interesting phenomenon observed in the near-anode region of a Hall thruster is that the anode fall changes from positive to negative upon removal of the dielectric coating, which is produced on the anode surface during the normal course of Hall ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Comparison between RF and electrical signals from the partial discharge activity of twisted pair cables at reduced pressures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A pressure-controlled test facility has been set up that allows the PD behaviour of polymer insulated twisted pair samples exposed to 50 Hz AC voltages in the range of 0 to 10 kV to be characterised.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Design and Development of a Bio-Inspired UHF Sensor for Partial Discharge Detection in Power Transformers

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this paper, the design and development of a bio-inspired UHF sensor for partial discharge detection in power transformers is presented. The UHF sensor was developed for external use in dielectric windows of power transformers.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Coherent Electro-Thermal Qualification of the Insulation System for Electrical Machines

open access: yesIEEE Access
Qualification of inverter-fed electrical machines through the procedure suggested in the IEC std. 60034-18-41 entails the application of thermal, mechanical, and ambient stresses, followed by measuring partial discharges (PD-proof test).

Partial Discharge in Electronic Equipments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009

Observer techniques for estimating the state-of-charge and state-of-health of VRLABs for hybrid electric vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The paper describes the application of observer-based state-estimation techniques for the real-time prediction of state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) of lead-acid cells.
