Potential of interval partial least square regression in estimating leaf area index

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science, 2017
Leaf area index (LAI) is a critical parameter in determining vegetation status and health. In tropical grasslands, reliable determination of LAI, useful in determining above ground biomass, provides a basis for rangeland management, conservation and ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

GpLMS: Generalized Parallel Least Mean Square Algorithm for Partial Observations

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceWe propose a generalized parallel least mean square algorithm (GpLMS) to deal with partial observation scenarios. GpLMS takes advantage of a two stage parallel LMS architecture to enhance the convergence rate and updates weight ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Optimization of wood flour acetylation by factorial design and partial least squares regression

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2012
Acetylation was performed to reduce the polarity of wood and increase its compatibility with polymer matrices for the production of composites. These reactions were performed first as a function of acetic acid and anhydride concentration in a mixture ...

Tide modeling using partial least squares regression

open access: yes, 2020
This research explores the novel use of the partial least squares regression (PLSR) as an alternative model to the conventional least squares (LS) model for modeling tide levels. The modeling is based on twenty tidal constituents: M2, S2, N2, K1, O1, MO3,

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...
