Viscosity Measurements of FeO-Fe2O3-SiO2-Al2O3 Slag Melt Under Suppression of Magnetite Formation

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2021
A stabilized zirconia oxygen probe was used to measure the oxygen partial pressure (OPP) at an electrode submerged in a copper slag melt at 1300 ℃. The OPP was controlled in the range of 10−10–10−5 atm owing to the presence or absence of a powdered ...

Impact-induced changes in source depth and volume of magmatism on Mercury and their observational signatures

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Mantle partial melting produced the volcanic crust of Mercury. Here, the authors numerically model the formation of post-impact melt sheets and find that mantle convection was weak at around 3.7–3.8 Ga and that the melt sheets of Caloris and Rembrandt ...

CO2‐Undersaturated Melt Inclusions From the South West Indian Ridge Record Surprisingly Uniform Redox Conditions

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2023
The behavior of Fe3+ during mantle partial melting strongly influences the oxidation state of the resulting magmas, with implications for the evolution of the atmosphere's oxidation state.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The melt content of the low velocity layer atop the mantle transition zone: Theory and method of calculation

open access: yesMethodsX, 2020
The melt content is significant characteristic for the low velocity layer, so it is very necessary to set up the quantitative relationship between the low velocity anomaly and the melt fraction.

Thermal conditions during deformation of partially molten crust from TitaniQ geothermometry: rheological implications for the anatectic domain of the Araçuaí belt, eastern Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesSolid Earth, 2014
During the Neoproterozoic orogeny, the middle crust of the Araçuaí belt underwent widespread partial melting. At the regional scale, this anatectic domain is characterized by a progressive rotation of the flow direction from south to north, suggesting a ...

Infinite shear rate viscosity of cross model over Riga plate with entropy generation and melting process: A numerical Keller box approach

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2023
This paper presents the effects of cross fluid model associated with entropy generation and melt process. The Cross-fluid viscosity model based on the infinite shear rate effect is taken with attaching Riga plate.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
