IS THE END-TIDAL PARTIAL PRESSURE OF ISOFLURANE A GOOD PREDICTOR OF ITS ARTERIAL PARTIAL PRESSURE?

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1991
End-tidal partial pressure of isoflurane (PE'iso) may be used as a measure of anaesthetic depth. During uptake, an arterial partial pressure (Paiso) which is considerably less than PE'iso (Paiso/PE'iso much less than 1) leads to underestimation of depth of anaesthesia and, during elimination, PE'iso/Paiso much less than 1 will lead to an overestimation

Partial Pressure Curve [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Education, 2004
Figure 2 in the article "An Introduction to the Understanding of Solubility" is incorrect because when the molar fraction approaches unity, the partial vapor pressure curves must become tangent to the corresponding Raoult straight lines, not just coincide at unit mole fraction.

Steady-state Simulation Analysis of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell for UAV

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2021
Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is the most promising power unit in UAV. There are a number of factors that affect the performance of PEMFC, such as operating pressure, operating temperature and relative humidity.

Hospitalization Through Families’ Eyes: Comparing Inpatient Care Quality for Children With Sickle Cell Disease and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Tunable Optical Properties of Amorphous-Like Ga2O3 Thin Films Deposited by Electron-Beam Evaporation with Varying Oxygen Partial Pressures

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
Ga2O3 thin films were fabricated by the electron-beam evaporation technique at a varying oxygen partial pressure from 0 to 2.0 × 10−2 Pa. The effect of oxygen partial pressure on the crystalline structure and optical properties of the Ga2O3 films was ...

Evolution Patterns of Frost-Heaving Pressure with Partial Ponding in Cold Region Tunnels

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
The calculation of the frost-heaving pressure is one of the key issues in the frost-resistant design of tunnels in cold regions. To reveal the frost heave mechanism of partial ponding behind the tunnel linings, a three-dimensional geo-mechanical model ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
