Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

PAPR Reduction of OFDM Signals by Novel Global Harmony Search in PTS Scheme

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, 2012
The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation technique is one of the key strategies for multiuser signal transmission especially in smart grids and wind farms.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

A low PAPR performance with new segmentation schemes of partial transmit sequence for OFDM systems

open access: yes, 2017
Despite the fact that OFDM has numerous features, the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) deems one of the challenging disadvantages face by the system in the real applications.

Optimizing PAPR performance for 6G OTFS waveform using adaptive genetic PTS method for Rician fading channels

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing
This paper proposes a novel method for reducing the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal time–frequency space (OTFS) modulation over Rician fading channels using an adaptive genetic algorithm-based partial transmit sequence (AGA-PTS ...

NORM Technique based PAPR Reduction in MC-CDMA Systems

open access: yesJournal of ICT Research and Applications, 2015
Multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) is one of the promising technologies for future-generation wireless networks. It offers high data rates, protection against frequency-selective fading and efficient utilization of the spectrum.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
