Influence of Source Parameters and Non-Kolmogorov Turbulence on Evolution Properties of Radial Phased-Locked Partially Coherent Vortex Beam Array

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
Partially coherent optical vortices have been applicated widely to reduce the influence of atmospheric turbulence, especially for free-space optical (FSO) communication.

Paraxial propagation of a partially coherent Hermite-Gaussian beam through aligned and misaligned ABCD optical systems

open access: yes, 2007
Paraxial propagation of a partially coherent Hermite-Gaussian beam through aligned and misaligned ABCD optical systems is investigated based on the generalized Collins formula for treating the propagation of a partially coherent beam through such optical

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Effects of residual coherence on the scintillation of a partially coherent beam

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
Recent results show that partially coherent beams (PCB) can be conveniently generated in a multimode fiber and modulated with data at gigabit per second rates, which makes them attractive for free-space optical communication through turbulent atmosphere. An important feature of these realistic beams in contrast to model ones is the presence of residual

Propagation of a partially coherent beam through Selfoc fibers

open access: yes, 1974
Propagation of a partially coherent beam through a Selfoc fiber is considered. The inhomogeneous Helmholtz equations satisfied by the mutual coherence function are solved using the modal expansion.

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Propagation of a decentered astigmatic partially coherent beam in a turbulent atmosphere

open access: yes, 2009
Propagation properties of a decentered general astigmatic partially coherent beam (i.e., decentered twisted anisotropic Gaussian Schell-model beam) in a turbulent atmosphere are investigated.

An Experimental High‐Throughput Approach for the Screening of Hard Magnet Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An entire workflow for the high‐throughput characterization and analysis of compositionally graded magnetic films is presented. Characterization protocols, data management tools and data analysis approaches are illustrated with test case Sm(Fe, V)12 based films.
