Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Breakage Functions of Particles of Four Different Materials Subjected to Uniaxial Compression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Particle breakage is a common problem in the conveying and handling of particulate solids. The phenomenon of particle breakage has been studied by experiments by a number of researchers in order to describe the process of breakage by mathematical ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Evaluation of particle size distribution of granular blasting materials based on the fractal theory

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
The particle size distribution of granular blasting materials has a vital influence on the filling quality of earth-rockfill dams. The engineering experience-based method used to evaluate the particle size distribution has shortcomings at both the ...

Effects of concentration of dispersions on particle sizing during production of fine particles in wet grinding process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Stirred media milling is a prospective technology for producing colloidal dispersions by means of wet grinding process. In the past, many researchers have studied the effects of different operating parameters such as size, shape, nature and quantity of ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Discrete Element Study of Particle Size Distribution Shape Governing Critical State Behavior of Granular Material

open access: yes
Granular soil is a porous medium composed of particles with different sizes and self-similar structures, exhibiting fractal characteristics. It is well established that variations in these fractal properties, such as particle size distribution (PSD ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
