Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Light-flavor particle production in high-multiplicity pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{\textrm{s}} $$ = 13 TeV as a function of transverse spherocity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Results on the transverse spherocity dependence of light-flavor particle production (π, K, p, ϕ, K*0, K S 0 $$ {\textrm{K}}_{\textrm{S}}^0 $$ , Λ, Ξ) at midrapidity in high-multiplicity pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV were obtained with the ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

On Features and Nongaussianity from Inflationary Particle Production

open access: yes, 2010
Interactions between the inflaton and any additional fields can lead to isolated bursts of particle production during inflation (for example from parametric resonance or a phase transition).

Elinvar Materials: Recent Progress and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Elinvar materials, exhibiting temperature‐invariant elastic modulus, are critical for precision instruments and emerging technologies. This article reviews recent progress in the field, with a focus on the anomalous thermoelastic behavior observed in key material systems.

Investigating strangeness enhancement with multiplicity in pp collisions using angular correlations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A study of strange hadron production associated with hard scattering processes and with the underlying event is conducted to investigate the origin of the enhanced production of strange hadrons in small collision systems characterised by large charged ...

Resonances as Probes of Heavy-Ion Collisions at ALICE

open access: yes, 2015
Hadronic resonances serve as unique probes in the study of the hot and dense nuclear matter produced in heavy-ion collisions. Properties of the hadronic phase of the collision can be extracted from measurements of the suppression of resonance yields.

Searches for supersymmetry in resonance production, R-parity violating signatures and events with long-lived particles with the ATLAS detector [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of XXVI International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related Subjects — PoS(DIS2018), 2018
R-parity violation introduces many viable signatures to the search for supersymmetry at the LHC. Strongly interacting resonances and lightest supersymmetric particles may decay into many lep- tons or jets with or without missing transverse momentum. Several supersymmetric models also predict massive long-lived supersymmetric particles.

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting
