Large N Chern-Simons-matter fixed points with multiple flavors

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper we analyze the 2 + 1d conformal fixed points arising from SU(N c ) Chern-Simons-matter theories with multiple flavors N f > 1 in the ’t Hooft large N c limit. The multi-flavor generalization of quasi-fermionic theories (fermions or critical

Radiobiology studies of gold nanoparticle‐enhanced radiosensitization in proton therapy

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Background Approximately 50%$\%$ of newly diagnosed cancer patients worldwide receive radiotherapy, most commonly with X‐rays. Proton therapy has emerged as a promising alternative, offering complementary advantages over conventional X‐rays due to its highly localized energy deposition at the Bragg peak, thereby reducing radiation exposure to ...

First‐Principle Analysis of the Structural, Elastic, Electronic, and Optical Properties of Novel AHgF3 (A = K and Fr) Perovskite

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
The evaluation of the physical properties of novel KHgF3 and FrHgF3 perovskites is explored. Both compounds are thermodynamically stable and mechanically ductile. Featuring narrow band gaps around 0.53–0.60 eV, these materials show strong potential for use in flexible infrared‐to‐visible optoelectronics and energy conversion devices.

Comments on class S(YK)

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We present a DSSYK-like interpretation of the Schur half-indices of 𝒩 = 2 SU(2) gauge theories with matter, in the presence of fundamental Wilson lines.

Boundary‐Only Weak Deflection by Regular Black Holes, Black‐Bounces, Wormholes, and Static Quadrupolar Spacetimes

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We apply the boundary‐only isothermal formulation of finite‐distance weak gravitational deflection to regular black holes, black‐bounces, traversable wormholes, non‐asymptotically flat backgrounds, and static quadrupolar spacetimes. The methodological advance is not a new value for a known bending angle.

Effective strings in QED3

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Effective string theory describes the physics of long confining strings in theories, like Yang-Mills theory, where the mass gap M gap 2 $$ {M}_{\textrm{gap}}^2 $$ is of the same order as the string tension T.

Seasonal Re‐Entrainment of Respired Organic Matter Decouples Southern Ocean Surface Production and Annual Net Community Production

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 5, August 2026.
Abstract The long‐term storage of carbon by the biological carbon pump depends on the amount of organic carbon produced in sunlit waters, the depth at which that organic carbon is respired, and the time until the respired carbon is again in contact with the atmosphere. In the Southern Ocean, estimates of organic carbon export, net community production (
