Chemical Kinetics of 2‐, 4‐, and 2,4‐Seleno‐Uracils at Low Temperatures: Tautomerizations and Rotamerizations on Inert Matrices

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the interstellar medium, chemical reactions proceed under conditions vastly different to those on Earth; these include extremely low temperatures and densities and take place in the gas phase and on water–ice grains. Understanding the energetics and more importantly the kinetics of such reactions is of relevance to the consequences on how ...

Generalized Hawking-Page transitions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We construct holographic backgrounds that are dual by the AdS/CFT correspondence to Euclidean conformal field theories on products of spheres S d 1 × S d 2 $$ {S}^{d_1}\times {S}^{d_2} $$ , for conformal field theories whose dual may be approximated by ...

Explicit Dynamics Analysis of the Impact Response of Lithium‐Ion Cells

open access: yesMacromolecular Symposia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT It is very important to make sure that EV lithium‐ion cells are safe when they are abused, like when they are hit or crushed. This kind of loading can cause structural failure or thermal runaway. Even though FEA is used a lot, common practices make the jellyroll the same and ignore the fact that the electrolyte is a moving fluid.

Unveiling New Perspectives on the Hirota–Maccari System With Multiplicative White Noise

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, we delve into the stochastic Hirota–Maccari system, which is subjected to multiplicative noise according to the Itô sense. The stochastic Hirota–Maccari system is significant for its ability to accurately model how stochastic affects nonlinear wave propagation, providing valuable insights into complex systems like fluid dynamics

Broadband and Enhanced Second‐Harmonic Generation in Metallic 3R‐TaS2

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A pronounced and robust SHG response has been observed in metallic 3R‐TaS2. It shows broadband SH conversion from 1020 nm to 1410 nm. Moreover, compared to the sapphire substrate, 3R‐TaS2 flakes with various thicknesses on the gold substrate showed different SHG enhancement; the enhancement factors range from 2.7 to 45.5.

Large Higgs-electron Yukawa coupling in 2HDM

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
The present upper bound on κ e , the ratio between the electron Yukawa coupling and its Standard Model value, is of O600 $$ \mathcal{O}(600) $$. We ask what would be the implications in case that κ e is close to this upper bound.

The Great Cosmic Silence: What Does the Fermi Paradox Tell About the Future of Humanity?

open access: yesGlobal Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines how institutional time horizons shape the long‐term survival prospects of human technological civilisation. While research on global catastrophic and existential risks has expanded, the temporal structures of political‐economic institutions remain underexamined.

Characteristics of the high-frequency humps in the black hole X-ray binary Swift J1727.8–1613

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
We present a detailed timing analysis of the two high-frequency humps observed in the power density spectrum of Swift J1727.8–1613 up to 100 keV, using data from the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT).
