Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Adaptive particle swarm optimization [PDF]
An adaptive particle swarm optimization (APSO) that features better search efficiency than classical particle swarm optimization (PSO) is presented. More importantly, it can perform a global search over the entire search space with faster convergence ...

INFLUENCE OF THE SOURCE EVOLUTION ON PARTICLE CORRELATIONS [PDF]
Modification of the particles in the course of the source evolution is considered. Influence of this effect on multiplicities and correlations of the particles is displayed, including an enhancement of the production rates and identical particle correlations and also back-to-back particle–antiparticle correlations.

Particle precipitation during ICME-driven and CIR-driven geomagnetic storms [PDF]
Interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICME) and corotating interaction regions (CIR) alter the parameters of the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) that affect conditions in the Earth's magnetosphere and particle precipitation in the ...

Dynamic of Particulate Matter for Quotidian Aerosol Sources in Indoor Air
A correlation between the mass concentration of particulate matter (PM) and the occurrence of health-related problems or diseases has been confirmed by several studies.

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

A Dilating Vortex Particle Method for Compressible Flow with Applications to Aeroacoustics [PDF]
Vortex methods have become useful tools for the computation of incompressible fluid flow. In the present work, a vortex particle method for the simulation of unsteady two-dimensional compressible flow is developed and applied to several problems.

Thick pinhole imaging system is widely used for diagnosing intense pulsed radiation sources. However, owing to the trade-off among spatial resolution, field of view (FOV) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the imaging system normally falls short in ...

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Mechanisms of Aerosol Sedimentation by Acoustic Field
Acoustic radiation sources are successfully applied to cleaning rooms from dust of fairly large particle sizes (ten micrometers and larger). The sedimentation of fine aerosols (particle diameter of 1–10 microns) is a more complicated challenge. The paper
