Transport and deposition behaviour of model slurries in closed pipe flow [PDF]
Suspensions of solid particles are ubiquitous in nature and industry. From subaqueous and aeolian dunes and ripples to plug flow in the minerals engineering industry, the complexity of the fluid dynamics and interparticle interactions in multiphase flow

Sand transport in multiphase pipelines [PDF]
Over the life of an oil and gas reservoir, it is likely to encounter sand production. In offshore production fields, as there are lack of processing facilities nearby, gas, liquid and sand are often transported together in long distance pipelines.

Parameterization of Convective Transport in a Lagrangian Particle Dispersion Model and Its Evaluation [PDF]
This paper presents the revision and evaluation of the interface between the convective parameterization by Emanuel and Živkovic´-Rothman and the Lagrangian particle dispersion model “FLEXPART” based on meteorological data from the European Centre for ...

Transport of particles in liquid crystals [PDF]
Colloidal particles in a liquid crystal (LC) behave very differently from their counterparts in isotropic fluids. Elastic nature of the orientational order and surface anchoring of the director cause long-range anisotropic interactions and lead to the phenomenon of levitation.

Ratchet transport of interacting particles [PDF]
We study analytically and numerically the ratchet transport of interacting particles induced by a monochromatic driving in asymmetric two-dimensional structures. The ratchet flow is preserved in the limit of strong interactions and can become even stronger compared to the non-interacting case.

Particle reworking and solute transport by the sediment-living polychaetes Marenzelleria neglecta and Hediste diversicolor [PDF]
This experimental study quantified and compared particle-mixing and solute transport by the polychaetes Marenzelleria neglecta (2 g ww, 3200 ind.m−2) and Hediste diversicolor (2 g ww, 800 ind.m−2) in Baltic Sea sediments.

Consolidation of Non-Colloidal Spherical Particles at Low Particle Reynolds Numbers
When a system of identical spheres settles under conditions of negligible surface and inertial forces an idealised form of sediment consolidation unfolds amenable to a universal description.

An Electrostatic Method for Manufacturing Liquid Marbles and Particle-Stabilized Aggregates
We have developed a method for transferring particles from a powder bed to a liquid droplet using an electric field. This process has been used to create liquid marbles with characteristics not normally found in those formed by direct contact methods ...

PERFORMANCE STUDY OF GLOBAL WEIGHT WINDOW GENERATOR BASED ON PARTICLE DENSITY UNIFORMITY [PDF]
The variance reduction techniques are necessary for Monte Carlo calculations in which obtaining a detailed calculation result for a large and complex model is required. The GVR method named as global weight window generator (GWWG) was proposed by the FDS
