PARTICLE TRANSPORT IN SANDSTONES
Proceedings of SPE Annual Fall Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1977Abstract Particle transport within the Berea, Noxie and Cleveland sandstones having mean pore sizes of 10, 15 and 30 microns, respectively, was studied by injection of aqueous suspensions of sand particles having mean particle sizes of 4, 6 and 7 microns.

Particle Transport in Microchannels
Numerical Heat Transfer, Part B: Fundamentals, 2006A numerical model for particle transport in microchannel is presented. This article focuses on situations where the sizes of the particles are comparable to the sizes of the channels. The present approach is validated against (1) flow around stationary, (2) flow around forced rotating, (3) flow around freely rotating cylinders and (4) sedimentation of ...

Transport of sputtered neutral particles
Physical Review E, 1995The initial deposition rate of sputtered material along the walls of a trench is calculated numerically. The numerical scheme is a nonstatistical description of long-mean-free-path transport in the gas phase. Gas-phase collisions are included by using a ``transition matrix`` to describe the particle motion, which in the present work is from the source ...

Quantum adiabatic particle transport
Physical Review B, 1986The problem of quantized adiabatic particle transport is studied for three classes of one-dimensional periodic potentials. In cases of periodically modulated potentials, the electron transport (in full bands) induced by the propagating modulation wave is shown to be given by a Diophantine equation.

Imaging through quasi-particle transport
Optics Letters, 1996Quasi-particles travel down a one-dimensional concentration gradient in a thin metallic film composed of regions of only gold and regions of gold-titanium-gold multilayers. We obtain an image depending on whether the quasi-particles encounter a multilayer.

PARTICLE TRANSPORT IN ROUGH CHANNELS
International Journal of Modern Physics C, 2009The transport of particles in two-dimensional self-affine rough channels is investigated through numerical simulations. We show how the average transit time depends on the particle Stokes number as well as on the restitution coefficient controlling the collisions with the walls.

Glutamine transport in submitochondrial particles
American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology, 1989Glutamine transport was studied in submitochondrial particles (SMP) to avoid interference from glutamine metabolism. Phosphate-dependent glutaminase activity in SMP was only 0.04% of that in intact mitochondria. The uptake of glutamine in SMP represented both the transport into vesicles and membrane binding (about one-third of total uptake ...
