Decay of accelerated particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We study how the decay properties of particles are changed by acceleration. It is shown that under the influence of acceleration (1) the lifetime of particles is modified and (2) new processes (like the decay of the proton) become possible.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Intercomparison of Numerical Inversion Algorithms for Particle Size Determination of Polystyrene Suspensions Using Spectral Turbidimetry

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2015
The continuous monitoring of the particle size distribution in particulate processes with suspensions or emulsions requires measurement techniques that can be used as in situ devices in contrast to ex situ or laboratory methods.

Deformed Wong Particles

open access: yes, 1993
By generalizing the Feynman proof of the Lorentz force law, recently reported by Dyson, we derive equations of motion for particles possessing internal degrees of freedom $I^a$ which do not, in general, generate a finite algebra.

NEW PARTICLES AND INTERACTIONS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We analyze the manifestations of new matter particles predicted by models of new physics beyond the Standard Model, at present and future high--energy colliders. We consider both the production of these new particles and some of their indirect signatures

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Chaos near to the critical point: butterfly effect and pole-skipping

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We study the butterfly effect and pole-skipping phenomenon for the 1RCBH model which enjoys a critical point in its phase diagram. Using the holographic idea, we compute the butterfly velocity and interestingly find that this velocity can probe the ...

Particle Clauses [PDF]

open access: yesSlovene Linguistic Studies, 2015
The role of modification is often fulfilled by particle clauses, which enter into coordinate or subordinate relations with the preceding or following clause structures only at the formal, syntactic level, leaving the semantic level relation unfulfilled.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
