In the present study, a novel double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) mycovirus designated as "Alternaria tenuissima partitivirus 2" (AttPV2), was isolated from Alternaria tenuissima strain BJ-SY-1, a phytopathogenic fungus causing muskmelon leaf blight in Beijing municipality of China. The genome of AttPV2 comprises two dsRNA segments.

Complete nucleotide sequence of Magnaporthe oryzae partitivirus 1
Archives of Virology, 2016A novel double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) mycovirus, designated Magnaporthe oryzae partitivirus 1 (MoPV1), was isolated from a strain of the plant pathogenic fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. The MoPV1 genome has two dsRNA genome segments. The larger segment (1763 bp) has a single open reading frame (ORF) with a conserved RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) domain.

Genomic characterization of a novel partitivirus infecting Aspergillus ochraceus
Virus Genes, 2008Three double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) segments from Aspergillus ochraceus isolate FA 0611, designated as AoR1, AoR2, and AoR3, were cloned and sequenced. AoR1 was identical with AoV dsRNA 1 previously reported from A. ochraceus ATCC 28706, which putatively encoded an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase of an unidentified mycovirus.

Molecular Characterization of a Partitivirus from Ophiostoma Himal-ulmi
Virus Genes, 2006The complete nucleotide sequences of two double-stranded (ds) RNA molecules, S1 (1,744 bp) and S2 (1,567 bp), isolated from an isolate HP62 of the Himalayan Dutch elm disease fungus, Ophiostoma himal-ulmi, were determined. RNA S1 had the potential to encode a protein, P1, of 539 amino acids (62.7 kDa), which contained sequence motifs characteristic of ...

A novel virus was detected in ornamental plants of Primula malacoides Franch exhibiting typical yellow-edge symptoms. Two double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) segments, of 2390 bp and 2344 bp, respectively, were extracted from plant tissues, and these same dsRNAs were detected from purified virions of about 35 nm in diameter. The two dsRNAs, putatively encoding

In the present study we report the identification of a novel partitivirus recovered from Miscanthus sinensis, for which the provisional name "silvergrass cryptic virus 1" (SgCV-1) is proposed. High-throughput sequencing (HTS) and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) allowed the assembly of the complete sequence of each double-stranded RNA genome ...

Complete nucleotide sequence of a novel partitivirus from Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis
Archives of Virology, 2021In the present work, we report the discovery and complete genome sequence of a novel partitivirus identified from Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis, which we have named "Brassica campestris chinensis cryptic virus 1" (BCCV1). Next-generation sequencing (NGS) combined with adapter-ligation-mediated amplification allowed assembly of the full-length ...

Aplosporella javeedii is a pathogenic fungus that causes canker and dieback of jujube in China. In this study, we report a new mycovirus, Aplosporella javeedii partitivirus 1 (AjPV1), isolated from A. javeedii strain NX55-3. The AjPV1 genome contains two double-stranded RNA elements (dsRNA1 and dsRNA2).

The complete genomic sequence of a second novel partitivirus infecting Ustilaginoidea virens
Archives of Virology, 2014The bisegmented genome of a putative double-stranded (ds) RNA virus from Ustilaginoidea virens was sequenced and analyzed. The larger genomic segment of 2112 bp encodes a putative RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp, 628 aa), and the smaller one of 2082 bp encodes a putative coat protein (CP) of 539 aa.

Genome sequence of a novel partitivirus identified from the oomycete Pythium nunn
Archives of Virology, 2018The mycoparasitic oomycete Pythium nunn isolate UZ415 contains two double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) of different sizes. The 1707-nt dsRNA1 and the 1475-nt dsRNA2 potentially encode an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) and a coat protein (CP), respectively, with sequence similarity to the RdRp and CP of gammapartitiviruses (< 57% and < 36%). Phylogenetic
