Complete nucleotide sequence of Magnaporthe oryzae partitivirus 1
Archives of Virology, 2016A novel double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) mycovirus, designated Magnaporthe oryzae partitivirus 1 (MoPV1), was isolated from a strain of the plant pathogenic fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. The MoPV1 genome has two dsRNA genome segments. The larger segment (1763 bp) has a single open reading frame (ORF) with a conserved RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) domain.

The nucleotide sequences of the genomic dsRNA mycovirus infecting Pleurotus ostreatus (P. ostreatus virus 1; PoV1) were determined and compared to the sequences of the other mycoviruses belonging to partitiviruses and totivirues. PoV1 dsRNA-1 and dsRNA-2 had genomes of 2296 and 2223 nucleotides, respectively.

A novel virus was detected in ornamental plants of Primula malacoides Franch exhibiting typical yellow-edge symptoms. Two double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) segments, of 2390 bp and 2344 bp, respectively, were extracted from plant tissues, and these same dsRNAs were detected from purified virions of about 35 nm in diameter. The two dsRNAs, putatively encoding

Molecular characterization of the genome of a partitivirus from the basidiomycete Rhizoctonia solani
Microbiology, 2000The bisegmented genome of a double-stranded (ds) RNA virus from the fungusRhizoctonia solaniisolate Rhs 717 was characterized. The larger segment, dsRNA 1, is 2363 bases long whereas the smaller segment, dsRNA 2, has 2206 bases. The 5′ ends of the coding strands of dsRNA 1 and dsRNA 2 are highly conserved (100% identity over 47 bases), and contain ...

Aplosporella javeedii is a pathogenic fungus that causes canker and dieback of jujube in China. In this study, we report a new mycovirus, Aplosporella javeedii partitivirus 1 (AjPV1), isolated from A. javeedii strain NX55-3. The AjPV1 genome contains two double-stranded RNA elements (dsRNA1 and dsRNA2).

Genome sequence of a novel partitivirus identified from the oomycete Pythium nunn
Archives of Virology, 2018The mycoparasitic oomycete Pythium nunn isolate UZ415 contains two double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) of different sizes. The 1707-nt dsRNA1 and the 1475-nt dsRNA2 potentially encode an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) and a coat protein (CP), respectively, with sequence similarity to the RdRp and CP of gammapartitiviruses (< 57% and < 36%). Phylogenetic

The complete genomic sequence of a second novel partitivirus infecting Ustilaginoidea virens
Archives of Virology, 2014The bisegmented genome of a putative double-stranded (ds) RNA virus from Ustilaginoidea virens was sequenced and analyzed. The larger genomic segment of 2112 bp encodes a putative RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp, 628 aa), and the smaller one of 2082 bp encodes a putative coat protein (CP) of 539 aa.

We report here the presence of dsRNA mycoviruses in a Korean isolate of Rosellinia necatrix. A multiple band pattern of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) from R. necatrix suggested mixed mycovirus infection. Next-generation sequencing analysis of purified dsRNAs indicated the presence of two dsRNA mycoviruses related to the members of families ...

The W8 isolate of the phytopathogenic fungus, Rosellinia necatrix that causes white root rot, contained three segments of double-stranded (ds) RNA, namely L1, L2 and M. Purified viral particles of about 25 nm in diameter contained an RNA segment with almost the same mobility as M-dsRNA, but the band was sensitive to S1 nuclease.
