Genomic organization of a novel partitivirus from the phytopathogenic fungus Ustilaginoidea virens
Archives of Virology, 2013From the plant pathogen Ustilaginoidea virens, four double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) segments designated Uv-dsRNA1, -2, -3, and -4 were isolated, cloned, and sequenced. Uv-dsRNA1 (1775 bp) and -2 (1588 bp) potentially encode an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) and a viral coat protein (CP), respectively.

First report of a novel partitivirus from the phytopathogenic fungus Fusarium cerealis in China
Archives of Virology, 2020To our knowledge, no mycoviruses have been reported in Fusarium cerealis. Here, we describe a novel double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) virus, Fusarium cerealis partitivirus 1 (FcPV1), isolated from F. cerealis strain HN30 from Henan Province, China. The FcPV1 genome consists of two dsRNA segments, 1732 bp (dsRNA1) and 1361 bp (dsRNA2) in length, each ...

Here, we report the molecular characterization of a novel partitivirus from Phomopsis vexans strain PvHZ002, a plant-pathogenic fungus infecting eggplant. The virus was designated "Phomopsis vexans partitivirus 1" (PvPV1). PvPV1 contains two dsRNA segments, dsRNA1 and dsRNA2, which are 1,662 bp and 1,628 bp long, respectively.

Molecular characterization of a novel partitivirus from quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) in China
Archives of VirologyA novel partitivirus was detected in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) plants growing in China. The complete genome sequence of quinoa cryptic virus (QCV) was determined using a combination of next-generation sequencing, RT-PCR, and RACE. Phylogenetic analysis based on amino acid (aa) sequences of the RdRP revealed that QCV belongs to the genus ...

Molecular Characterization of a Totivirus and a Partitivirus from the Genus Ophiostoma
Journal of Phytopathology, 2007AbstractTwo fungal isolates of the genus Ophiostoma (O. minus and O. quercus) contain double‐stranded RNA elements which, when partially cloned and sequenced, represent fragments of RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase genes which are most closely related to those found in viruses in the families Totiviridae and Partitiviridae, respectively.

An airborne microflora isolate, Aspergillus ochraceopetaliformis RCEF7483, was found to harbor seven dsRNA elements, indicating co-infection with a novel chrysovirus and a known partitivirus. Sequence analysis and RT-PCR confirmed dsRNA5-7 as components of Aspergillus ochraceous virus (AOV), a member of the Partitiviridae family.

A novel partitivirus with four dsRNA segments causing no obvious symptoms in Aspergillus flavus
Archives of VirologyAspergillus flavus partitivirus 2 (AfPV2) isolate XC-8 from the fungus Aspergillus flavus strain XC-8 was sequenced and analyzed. AfPV2 contains four segments, dsRNA1 to 4. dsRNA1 is 1907 bp in length with an open reading frame (ORF) encoding a putative RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) of 565 amino acids (aa). dsRNA2 is 1936 bp in length with an ORF
