Revolution of AAV in Drug Discovery: From Delivery System to Clinical Application

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 97, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Adeno‐associated virus (AAV) is a non‐enveloped DNA virus infecting a wide variety of species, tissues, and cell types, which is recognized as a safe and effective method for delivering therapeutic transgenes. AAV vector is the most popular viral gene delivery system in clinical delivery systems with unique and multiple advantages, such as ...

Chromatography in Downstream Processing of Recombinant Adeno‐Associated Viruses: A Review of Current and Future Practises

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 122, Issue 5, Page 1067-1086, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Recombinant adeno‐associated virus (rAAV) has emerged as an attractive gene delivery vector platform to treat both rare and pervasive diseases. With more and more rAAV‐based therapies entering late‐stage clinical trials and commercialization, there is an increasing pressure on the rAAV manufacturing process to accelerate drug development ...

The evolution, distribution and diversity of endogenous circoviral elements in vertebrate genomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Circoviruses (family Circoviridae) are small, non-enveloped viruses that have short, single-stranded DNA genomes. Circovirus sequences are frequently recovered in metagenomic investigations, indicating that these viruses are widespread, yet they remain ...

Tracking viral particles in the intestinal contents of the American bullfrog, Lithobates catesbeianus, by Transmission Electron Microscopy

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2014
Feces are an important viral agent elimination route for infected carrier animals and in aquatic organisms these pathogenic agents can very rapidly propagate due to the habitation environment. The objective of this work is to track viral particles in the

Integrative Analysis of Dog Serum‐Derived CircRNA Expression and Disease Severity, Inflammatory and Cardiac Damage Biomarkers Related to Canine Parvoviral Enteritis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
Novel circRNA‐based biomarkers for inflammation, disease severity and cardiac damage were discovered in dogs with canine parvoviral enteritis. The obtained circRNAs participated in the entire CPV infection process, exhibited substantial links with infection occurrence and progression and have the potential to regulate infection pathogenesis.
