Delay-based Passenger Car Equivalent at Signalized Intersections in Iran
Due to their different sizes and operational characteristics, vehicles other than passenger cars have a different influence on traffic operations especially at intersections.

Passenger Car Equivalent (PCE) is a conversion rate that can be used to convert the unit of any variety of vehicles to be Passenger Car Unit (PCU). The PCE value on MKJI (Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual) is considered having a longer time span compared with what we own today, therefore the renewal of the PCE value is needed.

Queue clearance rate method for estimating passenger car equivalents at signalized intersections
This study explored the use of queue clearance rate method for estimating passenger car equivalent (PCE) at signalized intersections. PCE was estimated based on the assumption that the rate at which a queue of vehicles clears the intersection is a ...

Calibrating the passenger car equivalent on Italian two line highways: a case study
The Level Of Service (LOS) of a road infrastructure, a concept introduced for the first time in the Highway Capacity Manual (second edition), is defined as the ‘qualitative measure of traffic conditions and their perception by users’.

Study of Determining the Value of Passenger Cars Equivalence (PCE) on Divided Urban Roads
Passenger Car Equivalence (PCE) is a crucial parameter for assessing the contribution of various vehicle types to traffic density on a road segment. Multiple factors, including road type, geometric conditions, and traffic volume, influence PCE values.

This paper investigates Passenger Car Equivalent (PCE) or Passenger Car Unit (PCU) values and traffic flow characteristics of Sri Lankan expressways: Southern (E01), Outer Circular (E02), and Katunayake (E03). The study highlights the importance of considering region-specific traffic parameters due to differences in road traffic systems, vehicle ...

The Relevance of Heterogeneous Floating Car Data for Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram Analysis
Floating car data (FCD) provide direct measurements of travel times and speeds, offering a valuable supplement to traditional traffic monitoring methods. This study demonstrates that, with clustering techniques and passenger car equivalent (PCE) conversion, heterogeneous FCD can reliably capture macroscopic traffic states and support capacity analyses.
