The genus Passiflora is popularly used to treat anxiety. Recent studies showed antidepressant-like effects of two varieties of P. edulis (edulis and flavicarpa) in mice. However, the mechanisms of antidepressant actions are still unknown. Here, the effects of P. edulis fo. edulis aqueous extract (AE, 100-300mg/kg, po), and ethyl acetate (AcOEt, 25-50mg/

C-dideoxyhexosyl flavones from the stems and leaves of Passiflora edulis Sims
Food Chemistry, 2013The stems and leaves of Passiflora edulis Sims, are used as a folk medicine for treating both anxiety and nervousness in American countries. Phytochemical investigation of the n-butanol (n-BuOH) fraction of this plant led to the isolation of four new 2,6-dideoxyhexose-C-glycosyl flavones, including luteolin-8-C-β-digitoxopyranosyl-4'-O-β-d ...

Chemical composition of passion fruit (Passiflora Edulis, Sims.) [PDF]
AbstractDetailed data collected during 1952–54 on the chemical composition of passion fruit juice (Passiflora edulis, Sims.) are presented and discussed. Figures are given for the distribution of apparent and true ascorbic acid in different fruit components at different stages of maturity and plant organs for the ascorbic acid and dehydroascorbic acid ...

Virus-Induced Tip Necrosis of Passionfruit (Passiflora Edulis Sims).
Australasian Plant Pathology, 1985Our evidence suggests that the tip necrosis disease in passionfruit on the New South Wales North Coast results from infection of the commercial plants with CMV. These plants already contain a mild strain of PWV through the accreditation scheme. it is probable that the tip necrosis disease seen in the field and that produced experimentally resulted from

Autotoxicity of continuoulys cropped passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) soil
Allelopathy Journal, 2021We determined the soil autotoxicity in the rhizosphere soil of passion fruit continued cropping up to 3 years, and analyzed the changes in the enzyme activity, microbial quantity and diversity in rhizosphere soil. The results showed that the autotoxicity of passion fruit rhizosphere soil increases with the increase in continuous cropping years.

Rapid micropropagation of passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims.) varieties
Scientia Horticulturae, 2003Abstract Lack of adequate, healthy plants can hamper production of passion fruits (Passiflora edulis Sims.). Seed propagation results in undesirable variability, inadequate and seasonal supply. This research aimed at rapid generation of P. edulis plants through modified ex vitro rooting techniques. Yellow (P. edulis var.
