Large carpenter bees show high dispersal in a tropical semi‐arid region susceptible to desertification

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2024.
This study examines the genetic status of native carpenter bees in a Brazilian region vulnerable to desertification. Employing a population genomic approach, we found low genetic diversity with high homogeneity across populations, even over distances exceeding 300 km.

Antifungal Activity of Isolated Compound from the Leaves of Passiflora Edulis Sims [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Current Pharma Research, 2010
In the present study pure compound was isolated from the leaves of Passiflora edulis for finding potential antifungal activity. Which were compared with the total methanolic leaf extract and the standard Nystatin 100 units /disc. The invitro antifungal efficacy of the pure isolated compound was tested against Fungi viz., Candida albicans (NCL 3102) and

LC‐ESI‐QTOF‐MS/MS characterization of phenolic compounds in Australian native passion fruits and their potential antioxidant activities

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 2455-2472, April 2024.
In this study, we profiled polyphenols and assessed the antioxidant potential of by‐products and consumable parts of four Australian‐native passion fruit cultivars using LC‐ESI‐QTOF‐MS/MS. We identified 61 polyphenols, revealing a rich diversity in phenolic profiles and antioxidant activities among the samples.

Pest categorisation of Pyrrhoderma noxium

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract Following the commodity risk assessment of bonsai plants (Pinus parviflora grafted on Pinus thunbergii) from China performed by EFSA, the EFSA Plant Health Panel performed a pest categorisation of Pyrrhoderma noxium, a clearly defined plant pathogenic basidiomycete fungus of the order Hymenochaetales and the family Hymenochaetaceae.

Cytogenetic characterization of the Passiflora edulis Sims × Passiflora cincinnata Mast. interspecific hybrid and its parents [PDF]

open access: yesEuphytica, 2016
The genus Passiflora L. consists of approximately 530 widely distributed species, including Passiflora edulis, which has drawn interest because of its commercial and agronomic value. Passiflora cincinnata is another important species owing to its long flowering period and resistance or tolerance to diseases and pests.

Cassava Starch‐Based Multifunctional Coating Incorporated with Zinc Oxide Nanoparticle to Enhance the Shelf Life of Passion Fruit

open access: yesJournal of Food Processing and Preservation, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Passion fruits are susceptible to numerous postharvest challenges including weight loss, ethylene production, peel shrinkage, microbial growth, and pulp liquefaction. To mitigate these issues, yellow passion fruits were treated with hydroxypropyl cassava starch zinc oxide (HCS‐ZnO) nanoparticles at varying concentrations. Fruits were stored at 10°C for
