Non-contact acoustic micro-tapping optical coherence elastography for quantification of corneal anisotropic elasticity: in vivo rabbit study [PDF]
Purpose. To demonstrate accurate measurement of corneal elastic moduli in vivo with non-contact and non-invasive optical coherence elastography. Methods. Elastic properties (in-plane Young's modulus E and both in-plane, u, and out-of-plane, G, shear moduli) of rabbit cornea were quantified in vivo using non-contact dynamic Acoustic micro-Tapping ...

Evaluating GPT-4 and ChatGPT on Japanese Medical Licensing Examinations [PDF]
As large language models (LLMs) gain popularity among speakers of diverse languages, we believe that it is crucial to benchmark them to better understand model behaviors, failures, and limitations in languages beyond English. In this work, we evaluate LLM APIs (ChatGPT, GPT-3, and GPT-4) on the Japanese national medical licensing examinations from the ...

Dynamics of Passive-Scalar Turbulence [PDF]
We present the first study of the dynamic scaling or multiscaling of passive-scalar and passive-vector turbulence. For the Kraichnan version of passive-scalar and passive-vector turbulence we show analytically, in both Eulerian and quasi-Lagrangian frameworks, that simple dynamic scaling is obtained but with different dynamic exponents.

Macrophage HM13/SPP Enhances Foamy Macrophage Formation and Atherogenesis
Previous research suggests that AIP may prevent atherogenic foamy macrophage formation. This study reveals that AIP, via its chaperone interaction with AHR, inhibits p38‐c‐JUN‐mediated transactivation of HM13, which encodes the ERAD protease HM13/SPP. HM13/SPP promotes foamy macrophage formation in addition to atherogenesis and plaque foamy macrophage ...
