Advanced Algorithm for Optimizing the Deployment Cost of Passive Optical Networks

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013
The deployment of passive optical networks (PONs) is slow today, especially in Europe, because completely new optical infrastructures are necessary to be installed in the last-mile segments of access networks, which is always very expensive process.

IN4MER Biomaterial Ink: A Phosphorescent Biosensing Biomaterial Ink for Multiple Analytes (Glucose, Lactate, Oxygen) Measurements and Temperature Sensing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multianalyte, real‐time monitoring of bioprinted scaffolds remains challenging. Phosphorescence‐lifetime–based, optically responsive microparticles are embedded in diverse printable hydrogels (κ‐carrageenan, GelMA, PEGDA) to form biomaterial inks that report oxygen, glucose, lactate, and temperature.

Routing permutations in partitioned optical passive stars networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 16th International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, 2002
It is shown that a POPS network with g groups and d processors per group can efficiently route any permutation among the n=dg processors. The number of slots used is optimal in the worst case, and is at most the double of the optimum for all permutations p such that p(i)<>i for all i.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Oxygen‐Tunnel Indium Tin Oxide Vertical Channel Transistors with Enhanced Current Density and Reliability for Monolithic 3D Compute‐In‐Memory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐tunnel (OT) indium tin oxide (ITO) vertical channel transistors (VCTs) enable reliable, high‐density gain‐cell memory for monolithic 3D integration. A sandwiched SiN/SiO2/SiN OT stack selectively regulates oxygen transport, suppressing parasitic electrode oxidation while stabilizing channel oxygen vacancies, thereby suppressing carrier injection

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Optimal dynamic subcarrier allocation for dual-band OFDMA-PON supporting integrated fronthaul and backhaul in 5G networks

open access: yesICT Express, 2018
We propose a novel dynamic subcarrier allocation (DSCA) design for dual-band orthogonal frequency division multiple access passive optical network (DB-OFDMA-PON), supporting integrated fronthaul and backhaul services, given their stringent requirements ...
